On Thursday 13 December 2007, at the Australian Defence Force Academy, Campbell ACT, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the 2007 Graduation Parade of Midshipmen and Officer Cadets, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Force, reviewed the Parade, presented the Commander-in-Chief's Medal and delivered the address.

On Tuesday 11 December 2007, at the Royal Military College of Australia, Duntroon, ACT, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the 2007 General Service Officers' Graduation Parade, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Force, reviewed the Parade and presented the Sword of Honour and The Queen's Medal, and afterwards presented Commissions and Graduate Certificates to Staff Cadets.

On Monday 10 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Sunday 9 December 2007, at Royal Queensland Golf Club, Brisbane, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC officially opened the new course.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a dinner to mark the official opening, at which the Governor-General delivered an address.

On Saturday 8 December 2007, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, was represented at Sydney International Airport at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of the Fiji Islands, His Excellency Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda by Commander Piers Chatterton, RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Friday 7 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received a farewell call by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, His Excellency Mr Karel Pazourek.

On Thursday 6 December 2007, at Adams Hall, Australian Defence Force Academy, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the Australian Command and Staff College Graduation Ceremony, at which the Governor-General presented the Governor-General's Prize and delivered a keynote address.

On Wednesday 5 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, received a farewell call by the Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, His Excellency Mr Pang Song Hae.

Earlier, the Governor-General was represented at Sydney International Airport at the transit through Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency the Honourable Anote Tong MP by Commander Piers S.N.S. Chatterton RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Tuesday 4 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Patron of Future Directions International, hosted to luncheon: Mr Kerry Collison; Mr Gregory Copley AM; Mr Allan Gyngell; Mr David Hawes; Mr Steve Howard; Dr Mark Hulett; Mr Craig Lawrence AM; Mr Jim Nockels; Mr Tony Nolan OAM; Mr Andrew Pickford; Brigadier Chris Roberts; AM CSC (Retd); and Brigadier Jim Wallace AM (Retd).

On Monday 3 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery received the Prime Minister-designate, Mr Kevin Rudd MP and Ms Therese Rein. The Governor-General administered the Oath of Office as Prime Minister of Australia and the Executive Councillor's Oath to Mr Rudd and the Executive Councillor's Affirmation to Ms Julia Gillard.
