On Saturday 9 July 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a ceremonial sunset and reception in recognition of 100th anniversary of the granting of the ‘Royal’ assent to the Royal Australian Navy, at which the Governor-General gave an address.

On Friday 8 July 2011, at Northmead, New South Wales, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC visited the Technical Aid to the Disabled (New South Wales) Headquarters.

Afterwards, at the Leigh Memorial Church, Parramatta, the Governor-General visited the Parramatta Mission and assisted volunteers with the lunch service.

Later, at Parramatta, the Governor-General, as guest of the Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Janice Reid AM, visited the University of Western Sydney.

On Thursday 7 July 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received Caringbah Selective High School student, Master Ewan Maddock, accompanied by Mrs Leanne Gibbs.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for Research Australia, at which the Governor-General presented certificates to members in recognition of their support to Research Australia.

Earlier, Mr Bryce received from Bligh Voller Nield Architecture, Professor Lawrence Nield and Mrs Andrea Nield.

On Wednesday 6 July 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Ambassador-designate to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, Mr Chris Barrett.
