On Friday 29 April 2011, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE hosted a reception for School Captains from Government Secondary Schools.

Afterwards, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas hosted a ceremony at which the Administrator, as Patron, invested Lord May of Oxford with the Fellowship of the Royal Society of New South Wales.

On Thursday 28 April 2011, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, received the Consul-General of the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr Biravij Suwanpradhes.

Afterwards, the Administrator received from Link-Up NSW Aboriginal Corporation, Chief Executive Officer, Ms Glendra Stubbs, and Ms Madison Shakespeare.

On Monday 25 April 2011, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO attended the ANZAC Day Dawn Service.

Afterwards, in Sydney, the Administrator led the ANZAC Day March.

In the afternoon, at the ANZAC Memorial, Hyde Park, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE attended the ANZAC Day Commemoration Service.

On Sunday 24 April 2011, at the residence of the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, His Excellency Mr James Wise, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended an Easter Sunday lunch with Australian Embassy staff and their families.

In the afternoon, at Kanchanaburi, Thailand, the Governor-General attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General opened the Austcham community services project at the Wat Phu Takian Kindergarten.

On Friday 22 April 2011, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE departed Australia on Official Visits to the Kingdom of Thailand and the United Kingdom.

Earlier, in Sydney, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

Federal Executive Council; Afternoon tea for war veterans

On Thursday 21 April 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted an afternoon tea for war veterans accompanying them on an official visit to Hellfire Pass in the Kingdom of Thailand for ANZAC Day.

Earlier, Mr Alexander Arthurson, Mr William Schmitt AM, Mr Cyril Gilbert OAM, the Honourable Thomas Uren AO and Ms Jane Gallagher arrived at Government House and remained overnight as houseguests.

On Wednesday 20 April 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received Deputy Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms Gillian Bird.

Earlier, at Deakin, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron, turned the first sod of Hartley Lifecare’s new administration building.
