On Friday 17 April 2009 at Parliament House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the 20th Anniversary Luncheon of the Jesse Street Trust at which the Governor-General delivered an address.

Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General received the Communications & Public Relations Secretary of the Salvation Army, Major Phillip Maxwell and the Sydney Appeal Director of the Salvation Army, Major Paul Kinder.

On Sunday 5 April 2009, at St Luke's Anglican Church, Deakin, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a service commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the laying of the Church's foundation stone, at which the Governor-General read the Lesson from the New Testament.
